Book Formatting - Chapters and Sections

Welcome back to another episode of Tiffani talks about formatting! Where I get nerdy and hail back to my graphic design roots.

Today I wanted to take a little bit of time to talk about Chapters and Sections.

How you design your chapter is all up to you. Do you just have numbers? Do you have titles?

Chapter 1.
One.
Chapter One.
Chapter One - Hermit

There really is no right or wrong way to go here. I decided to give my chapters names because it felt kind of fun and I don’t think a lot of people do that sort of thing anymore. I’m sure there is probably some standard or things that go in and out of fashion in writing, but either way. Do what speaks to you!

You can start a chapter on either side of the page, however, I’m told that starting your chapter on the right-hand page is a more traditional or classic way to go.
